Funny, isn’t it…(?)

Why is it that Human Computer Interact & Usability conferences often have the worst websites. The one for Mobile HCI ’07 is pretty ugly harsh on the eyes, has old content (“Mobile HCI06 will be held in Espoo, Finland”) and failed the WC Validation tool with 13 errors.

Then again those in glasshouses

Just for ‘fun’ I played the usability company website W3C HTML validation game got the following ‘scores’:
All failed validation…
1. Symplicit got 13 errors HTML 4.01 Transitional
2. Ideal Interfaces got 14 errors XHTML 1.0 Transitional (though admittedly I also have less content 🙂
3. Hiser got 16 errors XHTML 1.0 Transitional
4. PTG Global got 26 errors HTML 4.0 Transitional
5. Usability One got 41 errors HTML 4.01 Transitional
6. Different got 44 errors XHTML 1.0 Transitional
7. Look & Feel couldn’t even be checked due to an error…

Something I will obviously have to amend in the Ideal Interfaces re-design
